Hi, I’m Rush. I’m an illustrator and scientist in Vancouver, British Columbia. I’ve bounced all over the place chasing various academic goals: a BSc at the University of Alberta, an MSc at Trent University, a PhD at Queen’s University, followed by a two postdoctoral positions, at the University of British Columbia and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Check out my Google Scholar page if you would like to see some of the research I published over the years.

More recently I have reignited an old passion of mine for illustration and cartooning. This was something I loved to do as a kid and while it persisted throughout my academic climb, it was hidden in lab and seminar notebooks. Not surprisingly, my passion now is making science illustrations for research, but I also love working with companies to help them tell their stories, scientific and otherwise.

Some of the companies I have, or am currently teaming up with include: lululemon athletica, Kona Bicycles, Felix Biotechnology, Midnight Lightning, and JKX Comics.
